Had my trainee come over to my place to show her more stuff (and before you guys bombard me for being a slavedriver.. She was going to go to our workplace to "study" ok! I saved her!) hahah.. anyways she asked me what I'd like to have, and naturally I said MANGO...
Come Saturday..
She brought me EIGHT mangoes, and some stuff from Jollibee (this fast food kinda chain in Php - 3rd pix is its face! Does it look a little bit like me?)..
Waaahhahahahhahaha... So nice right? (I'm still so fierce to her at work)
Around 2+ I got her to go bowling with me and some Filipino colleagues... (the colls were nice enough to invite me.. super nice of them).. and I think the bowling lessons in SG paid off too (thanks bro!) .. at least not many gutter balls, so I don't throw our face right? right? right?
After that.. on to another colleague's house.. there was a party that day for 2 birthday celebrants. This guy damn rich lor, he lives in a huge place...didn't manage to get that in though.
I was thrashed at poker (when I actively gave it thought I was thrashed.. but in showhand.. the by luck kind.. I actually had quite the winning streak? I hope this doesn't mean my brains are bad .. )
Anyways we stayed till 2 am.. :S .. where my coll kindly sent me back. Along the way I got LOTS of instructions about how to take a jeepney (YES!) to church.. apparently it's more advisable to take it with a local beside, but I decided to hiong it..
And got to the Greenhills Christian Fellowship, a place near my hotel.. where the worship team there was.. wow pretty great. And about 8-9 member strong ok! Message was pretty cool, it was about learning to pray. :D There I met Deacon Joel who brought me out for lunch with some cool gals..
I have a stall in Makati! Selling.. er.. natural agriculture? I can only imagine what that is...
and during lunch, because it was a Manila holiday Monday, because I've never been to Tagaytay, and because one of the gals there had never been to Tagaytay....
They decided to bring us all to Tagaytay!!!!! That's a place to see the smallest volcano in the world, outside of Makati and an almost TWO hour drive!
And when we reached, it was kinda late.. the volcano could be seen at a distance, but due to the lateness and rain, we just saw it from this great viewing post nearby...
And on to food...
AND coffee...at this point they wanted to make me eat Balut! luckily one of the gals had to go to work the next day (and me, too..) so we went off.. that's another 2 hours' drive back.......
I just think everyone is super nice.. esp the church folks who were willing to do all this for a total stranger... snif. Oh, they don't have a senior pastor staff yet - pls pray for them ok? Also ah. .. I've committed you guys already ah.. if they do come over (which may very well happen..) you guys are going with me to bring them out OK! waaahahhahahaha...
And well that's my weekend. I just thank God everything came nicely and that I'm not dead yet from work and fierce bosses. That I wasn't run over by random jeepneys or blown away by volcano eruptions. And for the kindness and hospitality of the folks I've met over in a strange land, and for the goodness of you folks and family back in my own country. :)
One more mango-related pix for the road....
