This set of numbers can help you calculate which day of the week any given date is if you do not have a calendar with you.
The numbers represents the 12 months of the year.
The first 6 is for January, 2 for February, 2 for March and so on...
Here's how to calculate.
Eg. 12 May 2008
Corresponding number for May - 7
Date in May - 12
Add these up (12 + 7) you will get 19.
For 2008 you will need to add a factor of 3 (calibration explained below), hence 19 + 3 = 22.
Based on 1-Mon 2-Tue 3-Wed 4-Thur 5-Fri 6-Sat 7-Sun 8-Mon 9-Tue etc etc, 22 should be a Monday, hence 12 May 2008 falls on a Monday.
Before you start using this set of numbers, bear in mind you will have to "calibrate" it at the beginning of each year and again on 1st March if that year happens to be a leap year.
Here's how to calibrate.
Eg. 1st January 2008
Jan = 6
Date = 1
6 + 1 = 7
Since 1st Jan 2008 is a Tue(2), all dates in 2008 must add a factor of 2. However, since 2008 happens to be a leap year, all dates prior to 29 Feb add 2, all dates after 29 Feb add 3.
Hmmmm seems like it's a little more difficult to explain than to actually use the formula hahaha. With practise you should be able to master it in no time.
Ya I know it's crap....but it's ALWAYS fun to know SOME crap right?
