Are You Deceived?

There are 3 false but very popular formulas in the search for identity;

1. Appearance + Admiration = Whole person
(always ask "How do I look?" )

2. Performance + Accomplishment = Whole person
(always ask "How am I doing?")

3. Status + Recognition = Whole person
(always ask "How important am I?")

Appearance, performance and status are not wrong to have.  But they are inadequate basis for self-esteem.

God's reliable Formula for Identity is this :

You + Jesus = Whole Person

Identity in Christ gives us 3 very important things : -

1.  Acceptance
2.  Security
3.  Significances

We must hold fast to the security we have in Christ and the fact that the Almighty God always accepts us no matter what.  Only He can give us true wholeness which is not temporal.  Belonging to God Almighty is the best thing on earth!

More often than not our egoistic human nature directs us to wrongly gauge our worth based on how people view us and not how God view us. Just imagine how happy God will be if we constantly remind ourselves
1. God thinks I'm beautiful, that's all that matters.
2. What have I done today to please God?
3. I am important cuz God has a specific purpose for my life in His plan!

Until and unless we learn to LET GO AND LET GOD can we fully appreciate ourselves for who we are.
