Lunar New Year greeting

The lunar New Year is near the corner, during this festive session, we will take pleasure in greeting others with words of good health, long life, fortune, peace, and prosperity,as well as delight to be greeting by others with these words.

Indeed, in Proverbs 3: 7-8 say the way to have good health is to “7 do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”

In Proverbs 3:16-17 say “
Long life is in her (wisdom) right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour. 17 Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. “

Hence, dear Joyful gang, in this New year, let us encourage one another do not forget our Lord's teaching, but keeping God’s commands in our heart, for they will prolong our life many years and bring us prosperity.(Proverbs 3: 1-2).
God’s bless.

Three habits to help you grow spiritually
by Rick Warren

But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. Psalm 59:16 (NLT)

We all want our relationships to be characterized by the persistence and self-sacrifice. But we can never do that on our own. The kind of love we long to show others is only found in a growing relationship with God. Without God's power in our lives, our love will run out.

You don't build that kind of relationship with God - one that will help you love others when you want to give up - by accident. You do it through habits. Here are three habits that'll help you grow in your relationship with God.

1. A daily quiet time -- Let God talk to you through the Bible and through prayer.. Nothing will help your life more. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:16, "This is the reason we never lose heart. Our body does suffer wear and tear but every day the inward man receives fresh strength." (Phillips) Outwardly our body suffers wear and tear. But spiritually we can be renewed every day by spending time alone with God. It's not hard. Read through a chapter of the Bible, mediate on it, and talk with God about what's going on in your life.

2. Small group -- The Bible says in Hebrews 10:25, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another..." (NIV) You need to spend time with other believers. I hope you have a church family. Be a part of whatever mechanism they have to connect you within a small group - whether that's a Sunday School or off-campus small groups. You need the prayer support and encouragement of other believers. A Christian without a small group is an orphan.

3. Worship through song -- Psalms 59:16 says, "I will sing about your strength, my God, and I will celebrate because of your love." (NLT) Singing builds you up. The singing time at your church isn't just the warm-up act. It's just as important as the message. Don't miss it this weekend. Also, put some worship music on your I-pod® this week - and don't be afraid to sing along. It'll recharge your soul and give you the God-given strength to love others.

Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Ephesians 5:17 (NLT)
God shaped you for a purpose and he expects you to make the most of what you've been given. He doesn't want you to worry about or covet abilities that you don't have. Instead he wants you to focus on talents he has given you to use.

When you attempt to serve God in ways that you're not shaped to serve, it feels like forcing a square peg into a round hole. It's frustrating and produces limited results. It also wastes your time, talent, and energy.

The best use of your life is to serve God out of your shape. To do this you must discover your shape, learn to accept and enjoy it, and then develop it to its fullest potential.

The Bible says, "Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do." (Ephesians 5:17 NLT) Don't let another day go by. Start finding out and clarifying what God intends for you to be and do.

Begin by assessing your gifts and abilities. Take a long, honest look at what you are good at and what you're not good at. Paul advised, "Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves ...." (Romans 12:3b NLT)

Make a list. Ask other people for their candid opinion. Tell them you're searching for the truth, not fishing for a compliment. Spiritual gifts and natural abilities are always confirmed by others.

If you think you are gifted to be a teacher or a singer and no else agrees, guess what? If you want to know if you have the gift of leadership, just look over your shoulder! If no one is following you, you're not a leader.

Ask questions like these: Where have I seen fruit in my life that other people confirmed? Where have I already been successful? .........

Discover your spiritual gifts by serving

Discover your spiritual gifts by serving
Tuesday January 12 2010 12:00 AM
Posted by Rick Warren

Since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be. Romans 12:5 (Msg)
The best way to discover your spiritual gifts and abilities is to experiment with different areas of service.
For instance, when I was younger, I could have taken a hundred tests to determine my gifts and abilities; yet, they would have never told me was gifted at teaching. It was only after I began accepting opportunities to speak that I saw the results, received confirmation from others, and realized, "God has gifted me to do this!"

Many people get the discovery process backwards. They think, "Once I discover my spiritual gifts, then I'll know my ministry." It actually works the exact opposite way. Until you're actually involved in serving, you're not going to know what you're good at. The thing to do is just start serving and experimenting with different ministries; only then will you discover your gifts.

You have dozens of hidden abilities and gifts you don't know about because you've never tried them out. So I encourage you to try doing some things you've never done before. No matter how old you are, I urge you to never stop experimenting.

Over the years, I have met many people who discovered hidden talents when they were in their seventies and eighties. In fact, I know a woman in her nineties who runs and wins 10K races; she didn't discover that she enjoyed running until she was seventy-eight!

Don't try to figure out your gifts before volunteering to serve somewhere. Just start serving. Try teaching or leading or organizing or playing an instrument or working with teenagers. You will never know what you're good at until you try. When it doesn't work out, call it an "experiment," not a failure, because it will help you eventually learn what you're good at.

Subject: New Year Greetings

Happy New Year
Dear Friends, it is a joy to greet you all in the blessed name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Another Year to look forward to as we serve the Risen Blessed Lord together in the capacity and place He has placed us.

It is now almost two wonderful years of Ministry with Love Manipur. The opportunity of working and walking together with the Whos Who in the Christian Church of Manipur has given me much satisfaction, its really a humbling experience. I still don't know how long I'll continue with Love Manipur but I look forward to serving Him with Joy. Although I have given my resignation the Executive have asked me to continue until a suitable person is identified. As you pray please join us in praying for a God fearing person. Manipur needs a praying church and a praying movement to bring peace in our state in an otherwise violence and drug infested state.

Love Manipur is also financially poor, so we need a person (Co-ordiantor) who will be willing to work faithfully even when money does matter and its hard to come by. As I have experienced sometimes there is no money to pay for my rent and other travelling expences for more than 3 months but Love Manipur continues to grow stronger. There are today over 100 churches joining in the movement. Thank you for being part of this historic movement. God bless you.
On the Family: We are doing good. Jedidiah (JD) turned 1 on 24th Dec, he is very active he only keeps quiet when he's asleep! keeping Lalita busy at home most of the time. Lalita on the other hand is very well, we will get her check-up as soon as we can. Please pray for her health.

I was in Delhi from 9th Dec to 20th Dec 2009 for meeting and work with Fusion International Team. It was a fruitful time of exchanging culture and ideas on how to work among the different communities of the world.
As a family we went home (village - Sagang) to spend CHristmas with other family members and friends. I came back to base (Imphal) yesterday, thats the reason I could only get access to internet today. I will be in a Meeting with Church leaders tomorrow morning.

Hopefully, Lalita and JD will be able to join me soon.
Thank you being my friends in ministry. God bless you

Shalom
Moses Serto

The Lord's prayer

May the Lord's prayer be our daily prayer in this New Year....

Matthew 6: 9 ~ 13 (King James Version)

------------------------------------------------------
9. ....Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

Amen.

Lyrics of the Millennium Prayer
-------------------------------------
Our Father who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as in heaven
Give us to thee our daily bread
And forgive our sins
As we forgive each one of those who sin against us
And lead us not to the time of trial
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory

Lead us not to the time of trial
Keep us from evil
For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory

Let all the people sing Amen
In every tribe and tongue
Let every hearts desire be joined
To see the kingdom come

Let every hope and every dream
Be born in love again
Let all the world sing with one voice
Let the people say amen

Amen Amen Amen

Amen Amen Amen (To fade)
