Farewell....

Farewell, Doreen & Elder Yeoh, Our hearts are always with you…

You are our Angels
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Dedicate Your Work to God and It Will SUCCEED
Hey gang,
Here is the last letter in our SUCCEED acrostic: Dedicate your work to be used for God's purposes; pray that our Lord will give us the wisdom to understand His plan in our lives, we are able to act according to His will, and able to be succeed in His blessing…..
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)
All week we've looked at the keys to receiving God's blessing on our work. Here is the last letter in our SUCCEED acrostic: Dedicate your work to be used for God's purposes. Whatever you want God to bless, you give to him first. Dedicate it, consecrate it, hallow it, and then God will bless it.
Start working enthusiastically.
Understand who you really work for.
Concentrate on building your character.
Care about the people you work with
Exceed what is expected of you
Expand Your Skills to SUCCEED at Work
Dedicate your work to be used for God's purposes.
As a pastor, I want you to succeed in life. Obviously I want you to succeed spiritually, but I also want you to succeed in your work. I want you to be a witness at your work. I want you to use your platform for the glory of God.
When you dedicate your business to Christ, he gets involved with decisions.
He tells you what to do. He becomes the chairman of your board.
He gets the glory."We are Christ's ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, 'Be reconciled to God!'" (2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT).
Just as I'm the minister of Saddleback Church, you're a minister of a church -- at your workplace. Your job is to be an ambassador of Jesus to the people around you.
There used to be a commercial for Clairol that said, "Only her hair dresser knows for sure." Well, your faith is not meant to be a secret; God is not the only one who should know for sure. Other people need to know that you are a believer. The blessings that God pours out in your life - in your career, in your business, in your finances, in your family, in your health - they all come because of Jesus Christ.
"Let us give thanks to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! For in our union with Christ he has blessed us by giving us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world" (Ephesians 1:3 TEV). In this week of Thanksgiving, I want you to take time to thank God for all that he has blessed you with. And I encourage you to give him your work and dedicate Your Work to God and It Will SUCCEED
Exceed and You'll SUCCEED in Your Work
by Rick Warren
"Servants, do what you're told by your earthly masters. And don't just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best." Colossians 3:22 (MSG)
If you want your work to be blessed by God, you need to exceed what is expected of you. No matter what you do, whether you're a truck driver, an attorney, a cook or a teacher, do more than the minimum. Don't just get by.
Start working enthusiastically.
Understand who you really work for.
Concentrate on building your character.
Care about the people you work with.
Exceed what is expected of you.God wants you to go beyond the normal and surpass what is required of you.
Our verse today tells us to exceed the expectations of your boss, exceed the expectations of your customers. That is the kind of work God blesses. We live in a culture of mediocrity.
How many times do we complain about shoddy workmanship or poor service or inferior quality? Americans used to take pride in their craft, but today it has become about just getting by.
So many people just put in their time, do the minimum that's required of them and cut corners, getting by on as little effort as possible. That's the bad news.
The good news is that this makes it very easy to stand out at work. Any time you take pride in your work and decide to do more than expected, you'll rise to the top. Now there are two kinds of pride.
Galatians 6:4 says, "Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else" (NIV).
Notice the difference? One kind of pride is self-centered or comparative pride where you try to put yourself above others. That kind of pride is sinful. But you can take pride when you compare yourself to yourself and show improvement. Even more than personal pride, we should exceed in our work because we represent Jesus Christ to everyone around us. And Jesus said, "If someone demands that you go one mile, go with him two miles" (Matthew 5:41). Exceed what's expected of you and watch God bless it.
Expand Your Skills to SUCCEED at Work
Hey Gang:
Here is the next letter in our SUCCEED acrostic: Expand Your Skills to SUCCEED at Work ...
Good days & God's bless.
Do yourself a favor and learn all you can; then remember what you learn and you will prosper. Proverbs 19:8 (TEV)
If you want to succeed in life, your education cannot end when you graduate. All leaders are learners, and you need to continue learning the rest of your life. Because the moment you stop growing, your contribution to your company stops growing also.
Here is the next letter in our SUCCEED acrostic: Expand Your Skills to SUCCEED at Work -
Start working enthusiastically.
Understand who you really work for.
Concentrate on building your character.
Care about the people you work with
Exceed what is expected of you
Expand Your Skills to SUCCEED at Work
Ecclesiastes 10:10 says, "If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success" (NIV). It's important to work smarter, to sharpen your ax. You waste less time when you do this.
How do you sharpen your ax? By filling your head with learning - read a book, listen to a seminar, take a class, attend church. If you keep learning, then God can continue to expand your horizons.
"Do yourself a favor and learn all you can; then remember what you learn and you will prosper" (Proverbs 19:8 TEV). The solution to most of life's problems is training. So learn all you can.
That's why I encourage my congregation to take notes during my sermons. Did you know that if you don't, then within 72 hours you'll forget 95 percent of what you hear? So you may look real spiritual, but you're not real bright.
I can say this because it's a lesson God taught me when I was younger. One day I was reading Matthew 7:6 which says, "Don't cast your pearls before swine" and the Lord said to me, "Rick, who do you think the pigs are?" I thought it had to be the Pharisees, but God said, "No, you're the swine. You don't care enough to write down the things I say to you." And it was true because for many years, I never took notes in church. Every Sunday the pastor was throwing out pearls of wisdom and they were just bouncing off my head, going in one ear and out the other.
Learn all you can and remember what you learn and watch how God blesses your work.
You Need to Care if You Want to SUCCEED
by Rick Warren
Everything you do must be done with love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 (NLT)
One of the most important keys to receiving God's favor on your work is this: you must care about the people you work with. Even when they are irritable, even when they don't like you, even when they make fun of you, even when they put you down for being a Christian, you must still be a friend to them.
Start working enthusiastically.
Understand who you really work for.
Concentrate on building your character.
Care about the people you work with.
Why is this so important for success? Because the number one lesson in life, the number one reason God put you on this earth, is to learn how to love. God is love and he wants you to be like him.
It's easy to love people you like, the people you find easy to get along with. So if God's going to teach you real love, realize that he's going to put you around unlovely people.
"Everything you do must be done with love" (1 Corinthians 16:14 NLT).
"Everything you do" - that means in the office, in the car, on a sales trip, whatever. The good news is this really is not hard. It's easy to underestimate the power of a kind word, a friendly smile, a pat on the back, a genuine compliment, a word of encouragement, and a listening ear.
I have seen so many lives changed when somebody takes time to pay attention to them. There is not a person on this planet who isn't starving for attention. But a caring person is hard to find. The Apostle Paul said this, "I have no one else like Timothy, who genuinely cares about your welfare" (Philippians 2:20 NLT). Does that sound like your workplace? Everyone looking out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ? Those who really care are really aware.
People need affirmation, attention, and affection. Learn to care about the people you work with and show them God's love. "Be humble and gentle, be patient with each other, making allowances for each other's faults because of your love" (Ephesians 4:2 LB).
SUCCEED with Character
Hey gang,
Today Pastor Rick is sharing with us the S.U.C of our work, I found it's encouraging.
Take care & God's bless.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ SUCCEED with Character
by Rick Warren
We can rejoice when we run into problems and trials, because we know that they are good for us - they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. Romans 5:3-4 (NLT)
What you become as a result of your work is far more important than any job you'll ever have. That's why, in order to succeed in your work, you need to Concentrate on building your character.
To SUCCEED, you must -
Start working enthusiastically.
Understand who you really work for.
C oncentrate on building your character.
You are not taking your job to heaven. You are not taking some gold watch or achievement award to heaven. You are taking you, so you want to build character because God is more interested in what you become rather than what you do.
Look again at today's verse because some people have a misunderstanding about temptation. They think that, once they become a Christian, they should be beyond temptation.
It's important to realize you will never outgrow temptation. In fact, the closer you are to God, the more you become an enemy of Satan, and the more he will try to tempt you. The good news is that he has given you greater strength to resist it.
When you are tempted at work - to be unkind, to get angry, to be prideful or greedy - remember that every temptation is not only an opportunity to do good but, it's also an opportunity to grow in character.
For example, when you encounter an annoying co-worker, the temptation may be for you to get upset with that person. But the Bible says to bless those who curse you and pray for those who offend you. So instead of getting mad, use it as an opportunity to praise God.
Say, "Lord, I thank you for this person and I want to pray they have a good day. I pray they come to know you and that you will bless that person." Two things will happen when you do this.
First, Satan will get annoyed that you're praising God. The more you praise God, the less Satan will use that as a temptation in your life.
Second, you'll find yourself naturally growing in godly character as you apply God's Word to your life.
SUCCEED in Your Work with Understanding
by Rick Warren
Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT)
"If you want your work to be blessed by God, the first thing you must do is Start working enthusiastically."
There are seven keys to finding God's version of success in your work, no matter what you do. Yesterday we discussed that you should start working enthusiastically.
Today's key is this: Understand who you really work for.
Your boss is not really your boss;
your boss is Jesus.
There are two things I want you to see in our verses today.
First, it says, "Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people" (Colossians 3:23 NLT). It's easier to be enthusiastic about your job when you turn the focus of your work from "I'm doing this for my boss" or "I'm doing this for a paycheck" to "I'm doing this for the Lord," With that in mind you can do anything - scrape paint, wash dishes, repair a car - and turn it into worship.
Second, when you turn your work into worship, you start storing up credits in heaven. Colossians 3:24 says, "Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ" (Colossians 3:24 NLT). As you work for God, you are making eternal deposits in heaven.
"So whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV). It doesn't matter if you're rearranging papers or signing bills, any job can become an act of worship if you do it enthusiastically for God.
Learn to SUCCEED in Your Work
by Rick Warren
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NIV)
"Enthusiasm is not based on how fun your job is or how much it pays; it's based on why you do what you do. "
Our society has taught us to define success by a person's job title and financial status. But what does it take for God to have his blessing on your work? To him the motive, method and meaning of your work matters more than the money. That's because you only take your character to heaven, not your career.
This week I want to look at the seven keys to having God bless your work using the acrostic, SUCCEED.
If you want your work to be blessed by God, the first thing you must do is Start working enthusiastically.
Enthusiasm is not based on how fun your job is or how much it pays; it's based on why you do what you do. In fact, the word enthusiasm comes from the Greek words en theos which mean "in God."
If you want to be enthusiastic about your work, remember these three things:
Your work is a test from God. He is testing you to see how much he can trust you with in eternity. "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much ... But if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?" (Luke 16:10-12 NIV).
God is watching what you do, even when no one else is. Even if you have the most boring job in the world, God is watching to see your attitude. "Work hard so God can say to you, 'Well done.' Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed when God examines your work" (2 Timothy 2:15 LB).
Your attitude determines your joy. A lousy job is a lousy job, but it's even worse when you complain about it. "The diligent find freedom in their work; the lazy are oppressed by work" (Proverbs 12:24 MSG). It's all in your attitude.
You can't succeed in life until you change your attitude about the work you are doing right now. Romans 12:11 says, "Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically" (NLT). Why? Because God is watching, so serve him enthusiastically.
Ask God to Help You Get Where You Want to Be ...PRAYERS
Let us depending on God to achieve our success via continues praying for our goal. God is willing to bless us according to HIS best plan. We can learn from the Psalmist’s prayer:”O LORD, save us; O LORD, grant us success” (Psalm 118:25). Furthermore, Apostle Paul also told us: “And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God “(Colossians 1:10,) ….
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Ask God to Help You Get Where You Want to Be
by Rick Warren
"O Lord, God of my master, Abraham," he prayed. "Please give me success today, and show unfailing love to my master, Abraham." Genesis 24:12 (NLT)
The fourth step to getting where you want to be in life is simple: ask God to help you.
Step #1 - Determine your present position
Step #2 - Be specific about what you want
Step #3 - Look for God's promise
Step #4 -- Ask God to help you
Once you have found your promise in God's Word, pray and ask God for success, just as Eliezer did in today's verse.
Is it really okay to pray for success? Yes! If you aren't praying for success, what's the alternative? Are you going to pray for God to make you a failure? Eliezer clearly shows us that it is okay to ask God for success in accomplishing a goal as long as the motive is right.
When your success helps people and honors God, praying for success does not become a selfish act. It is the means to good testimony. In fact, here is what the Bible says, "So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God and there we will receive mercy and we will find grace to help us when we need it" (Hebrews 4:16 NLT).
If you study Genesis 24 further, you'll find that Eliezer prayed during his entire mission. In verse 12 he prays before he starts. In verse 15 he prays after he arrives in Nahor. And in verse 52 he prays in front of Rebekah's family.
So my question to you today is this: Are you praying about your goals? Are you praying about your future? Are you praying about your dreams or are you just kind of keeping them to yourself?
Your prayers reveal a couple of things. First, they reveal how serious you are about your goals. If you don't pray about them, you really don't care about them that much. If you only pray about them once, they are not a desire, they are just a whim.
The other thing your prayers reveal is how much you are depending on God to reach your goals. If you never pray about your goals, never pray about your job, never pray about your finances, you are not depending on God in any of those areas. The more you depend on God, the more you'll pray.
So determine your present position, decide what you want, find a promise from God to hold onto, claim it, and then ask God for help
God's Promise for You .....
Beside knowing Step #1 - Determine your present position & Step #2 - Be specific about what you want, we must and essential to know, aware and understand God’s promises……..
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
God's Promise for You
by Rick Warren
Abraham said, "The Lord brought me from the land of my relatives to this land and he has solemnly promised me that would give this land to my descendants." Genesis 24:7 (NCV)
It's not just enough to know where you are and where you want to go. To help you faithfully press toward your goal, you need to find a promise from God.
The Bible has over 7,000 promises from God to you - promises of success, confidence, health, prosperity, strength, wisdom and more. Why does God make these promises?
Because he wants you to learn to trust him.
From yesterday, we learned that to prepare for a decade of destiny, you should take these steps -
Step #1 - Determine your present position
Step #2 - Be specific about what you want
The next step is --
Step #3 - Look for God's promise
When you set a goal, don't focus on the problems, focus on the promises. Find a promise in God's Word that will take you to your goal.
This is what Abraham does when Eliezer, his servant, starts to worry about accomplishing the goal he is given. In today's verse, Abraham tells Eliezer about the promise he received from God: "He'll [God] send an angel before you so that you can find a wife there for my son" (Genesis 24:7 NCV).
You don't need an angel because dozens of time in Scripture God has said, "I'll be with you no matter where you go." God is always with you whether you feel it or not. You just need to plug into the power.
Back in 1980, the first year I started Saddleback Church, a reporter asked me, "How big do you thing this church is going to get?" I said, "20,000 people by 2020." The reporter looked at me and said, "Who do you think you are?" I told him, "The question isn't who do I think I am, the question is 'Who do I think God is?'"
The size of your God determines the size of your goal. And godly goal-setting always starts with a promise of God. Don't look at your limitations; look at the promises of God.
Ask yourself, "What promise can I claim?" With 7,000 promises in the Bible, you might not know where to turn. To help prepare you for your decade of destiny, we're going to cover a promise a day in our DriveTime Devotions. You can sign up to receive them at www.drivetimedevotions.com.
How to Focus Your Life !!!
Many times we are asking ourselves these questions: Where m I now? Where m I heading on? What should I do? What would be the changes I need? ?????
Below is an article written on “ How to Focus Your Life” for your pleasant reading:
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
How to Focus Your Life By Rick Warren
"Abraham was now old and well advance in years, and the Lord had blessed him in every way." Genesis 24:1 (NIV)
The next ten years can be the greatest of your life. They can become a Decade of Destiny, where your life is focused and, as a result, you're able to make an impact in all you do.
To get where you believe God wants you to go and be what you know God wants you to be, there are several steps you need to take that will get you focused --
Step #1 - Determine your present position
You've got to know where you are before you can know where you are going. To do that, ask yourself two questions:
Where am I now? Where are you spiritually, financially, emotionally, relationally, physically, and occupationally?
What would I like to change? In all of those areas you identified, what would you like to be different?
God promised Abraham that he would be become the father of a great nation. But in Genesis 24, we find Abraham is now an old man and his son, Isaac, still doesn't have any children yet. Abraham assessed the situation and, as a result, he sent his servant, Eliezer, to find a wife for Isaac.
An important principle here is that it is never too late for you to make a change in your life, even though making the change may take longer than you think. This is why you can't procrastinate. You can either drift through the next ten years or you can have direction over the next ten years. God wants you to have direction.
Step #2 - Be specific about what you want
In order to get to where you want to be, you need to describe exactly what you want.
For instance, Abraham told Eliezer exactly what kind of wife he wanted for Isaac. He said, "Don't get a wife for my son from the Canaanite girls. Instead, go back ... to the land of my relatives and get a wife for my son" (Genesis 24:3-4 NIV).
You will never reach a vague goal. The more general it is, the less power it has. But the more specific it is, the more power it has in your life.
Ask yourself these four questions:
What do I want to be?
What do I want to do?
What do I want to have?
Why do I want it?
You can't just know the what, you need to know the why - that's your motivation. If you don't know why, you will give up when it gets tough.
When Eliezer heard Abraham's goal, he started asking "What if...?" If you listen to the what-ifs of your goal, you will fail because of worry and fear.
You don't need to focus on the how for now because, once you figure out the why, God will show you how. He will help you solve the problems that stand in the way of your goal.
Today pray about your answers to steps #1 and #2.....
Update from Pastor Moses
Dear Gang,
New update from Pastor Moses on his ministry in "Theme: Redeeming our Land", please remember our Lord's servant in our daily prayers. God's bless.
*Ben**
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Dear Friends.
In little over two days time our programme: "Theme: Redeeming our Land" will kick start at Retreat Centre, Mantripukhri, Imphal and at Open Air Theatre (BOAT), Palace Compound.
It is amazing to see so many young people actively involve to make it happen. Most of the people who have enquired are from Non-church people, who I believe are interested mainly to be prayed for their physical healing. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to be at work throughout the three-days event
Thank you once again for your prayer and concern. God bless you.
Lalita continues to look after the home well since I am most of the time away from the family, She also helps with the Friday Mothers Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship in the locality, she is doing great in her own little capacity. She understands what I do and I am encouraged and Thank God for her. please pray for God's protection during the three days I am away.
Pray for Others
Please remember our Monday JOYFUL PRAYERS TIME (JPT); please forward your prayers’ requests; via SMS or Email, to one another, by Monday before 3.30pm, so that we can pray for one another needs.
Also wish to share with you the below article from Pastor Rick Warren.
God’s bless.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Pray for Others
by Rick Warren
"In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy." Philippians 1:4 (NIV)
The more specific you are in prayer the more specifically you get an answer.
Isn't it an encouragement when you know people are praying for you?
If you're struggling with a relationship today, let me tell you this: The quickest way to change a relationship from bad to good is to start thanking God in prayer for people.
Praying for them will do two things -- change your attitude and change them. Positive praying is much more powerful than positive thinking. People may resist our help, spurn our appeals, reject our suggestions and not listen to our suggestions, but they are powerless against our prayers.
When you say to somebody, "I'll pray for you" what do you say? What do you pray? Most of us are good at praying in a crisis but on a normal basis, what do you pray? God, bless them? That's so general. The more specific you are in prayer the more specifically you get an answer.
In Philippians 1:9-11, Paul spells out exactly what he's praying for people.
"And this is my prayer, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God." (NIV)
These verses give you four things you can pray for people today -
"Abound in love ..." Pray that they will grow in love.
"Discern what is best ..." Pray that they make wise choices.
"Be pure and blameless ..." Pray that they will do the right thing.
"Filled with the fruit of righteousness ..." Pray that they will live for God's glory.
Stop, Look, Listen
Day before yesterday was very much Irritated and got furious , but God’s words came timely…
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Stop, Look, Listen by Rick Warren
"A fool gives vent to his anger but a wise man keeps himself under control." Proverbs 29:11 (NIV)
"Anger, like every other emotion, is caused by the way you see a situation. If you want to control your anger, one way to do it is to change your point-of-view."
Why is it so important to keep our anger under control? Because uncontrolled anger can become a habitual way of responding to life. Pretty soon, your anger controls you instead of you controlling your anger.
The Book of Proverbs is filled with practical steps on how to control your anger. Let me share three. The easiest way to remember them is to remember a little phase that you may have learned as a child when you were taught to cross the street: Stop, Look, Listen.
1. Stop. Stop and think before you speak. I don't know why it is but angry words always seem to come easily. I know some people who, when they get angry, are witty, sarcastic, quick! But a sharp tongue is the quickest way to cut your throat.
2. Look. Look at the situation from God's point of view, not your point-of-view. That means be mature enough to overlook minor hurts, frustrations and insecurities. If somebody insults you, criticizes you, or puts you down, be mature enough to say,
"It's not going to bother me." Proverbs 12:16 (NIV) says,"A man's wisdom gives him patience. It is his glory to overlook an offense."
Proverbs 14:17 (NIV) says, "A quick tempered man does foolish things." And Proverbs 15:1 (NIV) says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath but harsh words stir up anger." The starting point in dealing with anger is to stop and watch what you say.
Anger, like every other emotion, is caused by the way you see a situation. If you want to control your anger, one way to do it is to change your point-of-view.
3. Listen. Listen to the needs and hurts of those people that you're tempted to be angry against. Any angry person is just a hurting person. They're hurting inside, they're frustrated. When you listen to their needs, it's easier to respond and not get angry.
"Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." (James 1:19 NIV)
If you do the first two, the third will come automatically. If you are quick to listen and slow to speak, it is going to be automatic that you are slow to become angry.
God Wants You to Enjoy Life
At time I was asking what type of lives God want me to have? ?? Many time we are living under worry, anxiety & fear....
Just hope to share the below article written by Pastor Rick Warren with Joyful gang
God Wants You to Enjoy Life
Article by Pastor Rick Warren
"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment" (1 Timothy 6:17 NIV).
You may be under a lot of stress right now because of the economy, but God still wants you to enjoy life.
He doesn't want you to live without fun. The apostle Matthew spent three years with Jesus and he wrote, "[Jesus] came, enjoying life" (Matthew 11:19 PH).
As a Christian, you can enjoy life because your conscious is clear. You can enjoy life because you are secure within God's love. You can have fun, laughing in church. You can enjoy friends who don't manipulate you --- because they are learning to be like Jesus and that means they are learning to look out for the interests of others.
Unfortunately, there are many people who do not want to let God into their lives because they fear God will make them give up anything that is fun.
In other words, they think that to become a Christian is the same as saying the party's over, that to be spiritual is to be miserable. People are frantically looking for fun fixes, but that means they operate under the law of diminishing returns. They spend more time, more money, and more energy to get less and less of a thrill. They go around asking, "Are we having fun yet?"
The way you fight fear is with truth and the truth says God "richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment" (1 Timothy 6:17b NIV).
God wants you to enjoy life!
Update from Pastor Moses ... Manipur
Please remember Pastor Moses & his ministry in our Prayers.
God's bless.
************************************************************************************
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much your constant prayers for us.
As mentioned earlier we are organising a Seminar and Celebration from 5th to 7th October, 2010 with the Theme: Redeeming our Land. Manipur needs redemption. The Programme is organised by Indo-Agape Ministry, and the Resource persons will be mainly from South Korea. They were here last year and having witnessed the good response from the people (Christians) of Manipur they have invited themselves this year. Not only are they coming on their own expenses but they will also contribute towards some of the local expenses too. So we are left with only half of the expenses to raise.
Although I am not part of the Indo-Agape ministry, I was asked to co-ordinate the programme. Since it is a huge programme covering most of the Districts of Manipur, we needed to raise active volunteers to mobilise the programme. The challenge is great, with less than a month before the Event we are working overtime to make it happen. It is also encouraging to see the young peoples' enthusiasm. We meet almost everyday working on how to control/organise the expected big crowd especially on the 7th Oct. evening. From last year's experience we learnt that there will be unexpected elements/groups who could be disruptive to the programme. We are praying hard for the weather too. October is towards the end of monsoon and when it does rain it could be heavy. So please uphold us in your prayers for the weather, health, unity amongst the organising team and needed finance.
Thank you for your concern also for our land. We are crawling back to normalcy. As I said earlier it will take time to heal. The real consequences will be slowly felt, when the harvest will be below normal since most the people depends on the results of the crop (0ver 70% of the people of Manipur are farmers, dependent on farm products). I was thinking of sending you a picture of the queu at petrol pumps. Fuels are distributed to the general public thrice a week and one vehicle can fill only 6 ltrs at a time. so you can imagine the queu, only the patient ones are able to get hold of the limited stock available. I am not one of those, especially with the busy schedule, mine is a motor bike so I dont need huge amount of fuel. Most of the other essential commodities are now available but not much changed in the price tag. Although the Eco-Blockade is still in force it is low key and quite insignificant. It doesnt have much impact on the society as was earlier. Yes, we are slowly back to normalcy. Thank you for your prayer and concern. God bless you.
Lalita continues to look after the home well since I am most of the time away from the family, I go to work about 8 in the morning and return after dark, when the baby is about to tuck in to bed. So very little time with our little Jedi. She also helps with the Friday Mothers Bible Study and Prayer Fellowship in the locality, she is doing great in her own little capacity. She understands what I do and I am encouraged and Thank God for her.
A brother
Moses
